The Keep Baltic Tidy Organisation (KBT) is a network which works with sustainable development issues through its member organisations in the Baltic Sea Region. Founded in 1993 on the initiative of Sweden and Finland, it initiates, implements and develops environmental projects for the general public. The main target group of the projects in the network is the private person and our aim is to contribute to a sustainable development in the Baltic Sea area.

Activities around the Baltic Sea
The members in Keep Baltic Tidy are NGO´s operating in the countries around the Baltic Sea; Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Russia and Sweden. Focus areas are currently marine litter in the Baltic Sea and public awareness campaigns.
Activities that have already been implemented in the network are for example cleaning beach-activities and campaigns against oil discharges and other waste from ships and leisure crafts. From 2011-2013 Keep Baltic Tidy’s main task is to increase the knowledge of marine litter issues in the Baltic Sea through activities in the EU-project MARLIN.
