Clearing the countryside from toxic waste

During the period of 2008–2009 a project with the aim to collect toxic waste and scrap metal in the Baltic Sea area is planned. Keep Sweden Tidy already runs a campaign with the aim to clear the Swedish countryside from agricultural scrap and that campaign has received attention in the countries around the Baltic Sea.

Baltic SeaBreeze

In December 2007 the project Baltic SeaBreeze came to an end. Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation was the lead partner in the project that lasted between 2005–2007, with focus on the Baltic Sea. The project's aim was to reduce marine pollution by changing the attitudes and behaviour of the people using the Baltic Sea area; seamen, leisure craft owners and the fishing sector.

The project was part-financed by EU Interreg IIIB Baltic Sea programme. Keep Baltic Tidy took the initiative to start this project which was also designated as a Lighthouse project by the Baltic 21 organisation.
